Third Actors in Richmond attended the peaceful, non-violent No Kings Day protest with joy, determination, and courage – along with thousands of others. It was a spectacular, historic experience to march from Capitol Square to Kanawha Plaza amongst so many people raising their voices loud and proud! Not only did we have 10,000 protesters in our city alone, there were many more driving by and honking in support, or sitting on the side of the road waving and supporting the crowd. It’s amazing to think that Richmond drew as many people as the wasteful military parade in Washington. All across the country, it was reported that over 13 million people protested No Kings Day, and of course that doesn’t count the protests in other countries. We will not bow to this wanna-be dictator, but our work is not finished yet. So get some rest, take some comfort and pride in what we have all accomplished, and get ready to get back to work protecting democracy and the planet!
