Acting Locally

We hear and say a lot about getting involved at the local level. This month (January) there is an opportunity to sign up for town elections. Many town democratic committees are looking for candidates for offices with varying levels of commitment, from weekly meetings to monthly meetings. The filing period is January 21-30. It costs $1 to file. If you want to run or know someone who would be a good candidate, contact your local committee. Your town webpage should have a list of all offices up for election.
