A Conversation with David Loy, Author of Ecodharma
About this event
Join us for a conversation with David Loy.

David Loy is a writer, speaker, Zen Buddhist teacher in the Sanbo Zen tradition, and retired professor. He is especially concerned about social and ecological issues. He eloquently argues that there is a fundamental connection between Buddhist teachings about our personal predicaments and our collective ecological predicament.
In June 2014, David received an honorary degree from his alma mater Carleton College. Two years later he returned the degree in protest of a decision by the Carleton Board of Trustees against divesting from fossil fuel companies.
David lectures nationally and internationally, focusing primarily on the encounter between Buddhism and modernity. David’s academic career centered around Buddhist and comparative philosophy. His studies and teaching spanned universities and institutions across the globe – including the US, England, Singapore, Japan, South Africa, Israel, the Netherlands, and Canada.
David is also one of the founding members of the Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center in Colorado.
