Third Act Oregon brings together the political and economic power of Oregonians over age 60 to move local communities in the direction of a more sustainable society and planet. Our demographic is large, we have a wealth of life experience, we have huge economic power, and we VOTE. When we put our voices together, we are powerful.

Saving Our Planet

We can’t afford to keep endangering our planet by burning fossil fuels. Third Act Oregon advocates for the rapid transition from fossil fuels to clean renewable energy. 

No Oregonian can forget  the devastating wildfires in 2020 that burned over 1 million acres, cost an estimated $609 million, destroyed over 4000 homes, and blanketed our state in toxic smoke. This is not the legacy we want to leave to future generations. The time to act is now.

Banking on the Future

Third Act’s current campaign is putting pressure on the four largest banks—Citibank, Wells Fargo, Chase, and Bank of America—to stop funding the energy infrastructure of the past and to start funding the energy infrastructure of the future. Protecting Democracy

Anti-democratic forces are curtailing voting rights, gerrymandering voting districts, harassing and intimidating voting officials, and politicizing the counting and certification of votes. Third Act works to safeguard our democracy at national, state and local levels.

There are many ways you can help pass on a livable planet and a functioning democracy to your children. You can send emails, write letters, make phone calls, or sign petitions. You can attend virtual meetings or in-person events. Third Act Oregon will provide regular updates and notify you of opportunities for you to take action.
