Monticello WI–Tony Hartman of Legacy Solar Co-op spoke to a gathering of community members on Wednesday evening September 17, 2025 at the Moncicello Public Library. The library event was in celebration of Sun Day, a national wide celebration of solar power.
Monticello, WI is a small town in Southern Wisconsin about 4 miles from the larger and more well-known tourist destination New Glarus. Monticello’s library event was one of over 40 Sun Day events throughout Wisconsin.
Tony, Director of Business Development for Legacy Solar Coop presented information on solar power and panel project planning. He talked about solar power, what’s involved in planning a project, and/or how solar energy works and might work for you. Among those in the audience was a couple that was interested in solar but wanted more information. Specifically, they were interested in the process of hiring a reputable contractor. They also had questions about inverters and the susceptibility of solar panels to hail damage (the hail has to be very large before it causes damage.)
