It’s a wrap!! A huge THANK YOU to all the Third Actors and friends who pitched in
to make Sun Day in DC on September 21 a huge success!
Here are some initial results to report….more coming in:
- The sundayindc.org website received over 3,200 visitors and 7,600 views.
- ️Together we hosted 80 solar home sites and 8 information hubs across all wards of the
city–check out the photos below! - Our interactive online map proved to be a great tool for guiding visitors to homes and hubs.
- Solar home and hub hosts had conversations with hundreds of visitors.
- Solar homeowners were on local TV not once, but TWICE on Sun Day!
- Our event was highlighted on Third Act’s National All-Volunteer call on September 25, with Karen Gladding, one of the leaders of the Sun Day DC team, sharing the highlights.
- We are confident that the grassroots foundations we are creating and nurturing in DC will support the growth of solar from 14% of viable roofs to many, many more in the future.
Another big shout-out and thank you to our partners and volunteers. Third Act DC was joined by an amazing coalition of District agencies and nonprofits to plan the event, including Electrify DC, Sierra Club, Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN), Interfaith Power & Light, Washington Interfaith Network, DC Sustainable Energy Utility, DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), and Young Gifted and Green, with financial support from Solar Solution and Sycamore & Oak.
