Hosted by Studio Two Three and sponsored by Data Center Defiance. This will be an informal, educational event for people of all ages to come and learn about what is going on with data centers in the Richmond area. If you’ve never been to Studio Two Three, it is a unique space – a former elementary school that has become a community space for artists, makers and community minded events of all sorts. There will be food trucks (My Empanadas is confirmed so far), speakers – including Tim Cywinski, the current communications director for the Virginia chapter of the Sierra Club, Mary Finley-Brooks, professor at University of Richmond, and an opportunity to ask questions and share information about data centers. A screen printing station will be set up for folks to print their own posters! Music, door prizes, and hands-on activities for kids round out the evening. The goal is to inform our community of the current state of data center expansion and development in our immediate region. Attendees will leave with at least 3 tangible ways to support the cause. Ten to twelve tables of related organizations will be on hand, including Third Act RVA. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help man the table, or even to assist at the entrance to the event.
