The first Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970 \u2013 56 years ago! The seminal observance reportedly<\/a> inspired 20 million Americans \u2014 at the time, 10% of the total population of the United States \u2014 to take to the streets, parks and auditoriums to protest the impacts of 150 years of industrial development which had left a growing legacy of serious human health impacts.<\/p>\n

The need to take action to protect our Earth has become more urgent than ever. Third Act SoCal will participate in many events planned throughout April. Look for our members tabling or showcasing sustainable features at the events below. And, if you’d like to help us table, email\u00a0tasc-tabling@googlegroups.com<\/a>. You’ll be helping to expand our membership and inform the public about the actions we’re taking while spending quality in-person time with other Third Actors.<\/p>\n
