Be Part of the Movement to Flip the House and Senate

Third Act SoCal is bringing back its successful Adopt a District program from 2024, which is designed to help our volunteers make the greatest difference by supporting key congressional races.

Redistricting and campaign dynamics continue to shift as we approach November’s midterms. But one thing is clear: This election will shape the future of our democracy, our climate and our communities. So, Third Act SoCal is bringing back the Adopt a District program, which helped turn three districts blue in 2024. It is designed to help our volunteers make the greatest difference by supporting key congressional races. We’ll also work to hold an influential senate seat in Georgia. Together, we can help elect leaders who will protect democratic institutions, defend voting rights and take meaningful action on our climate crisis.

Our Democracy and Civic Engagement Team has just launched the Adopt a District program. Trainings and volunteer gatherings will start this summer. In September, we will hit the ground running with coordinated activities including phone banking, postcard writing, canvassing and outreach events to support the candidates we have endorsed. Volunteers can choose to adopt a district where they live, one nearby or one where help is needed most. We’ll have volunteer district leaders to provide guidance, updates and opportunities for involvement throughout the campaign season.

Over the past several years, many Americans have grown concerned about political division, stalled legislation, attacks on democratic norms, and the growing influence of extremist politics. At a time when strong oversight and effective leadership are urgently needed, too many elected officials have failed to meet the moment. Third Act SoCal believes that civic engagement is one of the most powerful tools we have to create needed change. Just as earlier generations stepped up during defining moments in history, we can do our part through volunteering, organizing, voter outreach and community action.

So, we hope you will jump in and join the Adopt a District program. By working together, we can help flip critical seats, hold vulnerable seats, build momentum for positive change and show that ordinary citizens still have the power to shape the future. See a list of the candidates we have endorsed and sign up to help with this formCome November, we hope we can all say that we were part of a movement that protected our precious Earth and stood up for democracy and a better future for generations to come.
