Week 3: Summer of Heat in Solidarity with Texas and Louisiana

Week 3 is Gulf South Solidarity. One of the world’s largest build outs of new fossil fuel projects is happening in the Gulf South, along the coastlines of Texas and Louisiana, where dozens of new methane gas terminals and petrochemical facilities are slated to be built in primarily Black and brown communities. In January, President Biden issued a formal pause on some gas projects in the region―but Wall Street banks, investors, and insurers are continuing to bankroll the buildout of oil and gas projects in the Gulf South that fuel environmental racism and drive climate chaos, regardless. We will organize a March to End Fossil Fuel Financing against the corporations financing climate chaos and environmental racism. Join us!

Week 6 is No Genocide, No Fossil Fuels, where we recognize that militarism and climate change go hand-in-hand in other ways too, from all the planet-heating pollution generated by Israel’s genocide, to the appalling greed laid bare by the opportunistic profiteering off Gazan offshore gas since last fall. We’ve seen a global movement rise up to hold institutions complicit in genocide and occupation accountable. Join us!
