Elections 2024

In 2024, Third Act is dedicated to electing leaders who prioritize climate action and uphold democratic values at the federal, state, and local levels. We have a growing roster of activities to help us win for the planet and our democracy.

We older Americans can be a real force for change in American politics.

For one thing, there are a lot of us: 70 million Americans are past the age of 60, and 10,000 join our band every day—that’s as many people as are born in this country every day. We’re a nation the size of France!

And we punch above our weight politically, because compared to other groups we are dedicated voters. At Third Act we like to say “there’s no known way to stop us old people from voting!” So politicians pay serious attention when we speak. We also have inspiring voting stories to share that can help motivate others to vote.

Scroll down to find all the ways you can take action and get involved in 2024, as an individual, with friends, family, and neighbors, and by joining a Third Act Working Group.

Senior to Senior: Intergenerational Voter Registration

Every year, ~4 million Americans turn 18 and become eligible to vote, but fewer than half of them do. With our partner, The Civics Center, we’re working to get students at schools in your area registered in time to vote in November.

Get Out The Vote: Phone banking and postcards to voters

Delivering personalized messages directly to voters has a powerful impact on turnout! Working with Activate America, we combine our huge people power with their evidence-based messaging to break through the noise and motivate voters in crucial areas to hit the polls.
