Third Act Oregon presents an intimate conversation with author, educator and environmental activist Bill McKibben about what we can do right now to save our planet and our democracy. Bill will talk about what’s bringing him joy, what gives him hope, and why he believes that, working together, we can have a huge impact on making our world a better place for generations to come.

Bill is renowned for mobilizing popular support for action on climate justice and democracy. He has authored 20 books, including The End of Nature (1989) which is regarded as the first book for a general audience about climate change. He also helped found 350.org, the first global grassroots climate campaign. In 2022 he founded Third Act, a national organization with over 70,000 members that organizes people in or near retirement for action on protecting our climate and democracy.

Don’t miss this rare chance to spend an evening with one of the world’s most beloved and important environmentalists and global thinkers. Mingle with Third Act Oregon and climate activists from all over the state after the main presentation and enjoy light refreshments in the beautiful, air conditioned First Unitarian Buchan Room.
