Yellow Springs,OH will celebrate Porch Fest on Saturday, September 20 as one of the Sun Day events.
Many of the stages at Porch Fest (current count is 18) will be powered by solar power and there will be materials at each of those locations to describe the power source and its benefits.
The proclamation was presented at the Yellow Springs Arts Council office to David Seitz, the coordinator of Porch Fest, Ellis Jacobs and Margi Gay Porch Fest SunDay committee members, and Valerie Blackwell Truit, and Jerome Borchers the president and vice president of the Yellow Springs Arts Council, which is the host organization for Porch Fest.
The resolution notes the threats posed by climate change, the importance of transitioning to clean energy, and the fact that solar power is now the most affordable form of new energy on the planet. The price of solar power with batteries has dropped 90% in the last decade.
It notes that Yellow Springs has long been a leader in sustainability and is committed to supporting the growth and adoption of renewable energy. 
The resolution urges all residents to join in celebrating clean energy and local music on SunDay, being celebrated as part of Porch Fest on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
