We invite all of our members from throughout Michigan to take part, as time permits, in two more outreach efforts scheduled for Monday and Tuesday (June 8 & 9) to help elect Brian Fenlon to the Cherryland Electric Board of Directors.
These events are coordinated by our friend Nicholas Jansen of the Groundwork Center in Traverse City, who writes:
With increasing severe weather events, rising energy rates and the threat of data centers, we need working people on these rural electric boards to help prepare our grid for the storms to come. Your help for Brian has put us one step closer to getting our communities ready but we are not there yet!
With online voting officially ending on Friday, June 12 at noon – we are in GOTV time. The name of the game is to contact as many voters as we can to get them to vote – we have generated quite a buzz this year but unless members get directly asked to vote, they won’t! That’s where you come in!
On Monday (June 8), going from 2-7 pm est, we have the phone bank POWER HOUR for Brian. Every hour, on the hour, we will be training new folks and helping them make calls through Murmuration – no phone, all you need is your computer. If you have a free hour during that time, please sign up here!
On Tuesday (June 9), we will have a text bank running all day! All you need to do is go into this spreadsheet and 1) put your name by some numbers you can reach out to, 2) copy the sample text and graphic, and 3) send out some text messages! No sign up needed – come Tuesday morning, the spreadsheet will have contacts ready to go. All you will need to do is claim some contacts and start texting! If you could claim 25-50, that would be ideal.
