As we head into the 4th of July weekend to celebrate our independence, I’m thinking a lot about what that concept means for our everyday lives right here in Georgia. For too long, Georgia families have been at the mercy of a Republican-led Public Service Commission that puts corporate profits over your household budget. True independence means building an energy system that actually serves the public—one that lowers costs, expands clean resources like solar, and blocks data center costs from being added to your power bill.
True energy democracy is giving people back control over their energy future.
I recently sat down with the team at Heatmap News for an episode of their Shift Key podcast to dive deep into these exact dynamics. We discussed the frontline fight to protect ratepayers and why down-ballot utility board races are some of the most critical elections in the country right now, especially in Georgia.
If you have some downtime or a road trip planned this long weekend, you can listen to the full interview right here.
This campaign is entirely about returning power to everyday Georgians. As we build early momentum for this critical 2026 race, we are relying on grassroots supporters to help us get our message out.
If you’re ready to help us stand up to the monopolies and fight for fair power bills, please consider contributing to our campaign today:
Have a safe, happy, and meaningful 4th of July!
Best,
Peter
