Third Act Faith honors the late Joanna Macy by continuing to explore her Work That Reconnects, a set of simple but profound practices to build strength and resilience for our work to heal the world. In each session, we engage in practices of sharing, listening, and imagining related to one of the stages of the Work that Reconnects, which are designed to build community, help us hold the many emotions related to our work in the world, and give us new sources of support to do that work.
Our sessions are led by TAF Coordinating Committee member Martin Wagner, an interfaith eco-chaplain and environmental lawyer, who was a friend and student of Joanna Macy. In this session we will return to gratitude, where our sessions began earlier this year. The stages stand alone, so you do not need to have attended the previous sessions and are welcome to join this gathering.
Developed by Buddhist activist Joanna Macy, Ph.D., an author and scholar of systems theory and deep ecology, these practices are a powerful resource for transforming anger, despair, and overwhelm into inspired, collaborative action.
