Join this 1-hour workshop with Third Act & The Civics Center to be trained as an ambassador to contact and activate high school educators & student leaders as part of the Class of 2023 "Cap, Gown and Ballot Challenge" to make sure millions of newly-eligible young voters are registered!

About this event

Every year, four million Americans turn 18 and become newly eligible to vote… But less than half of them do vote because they are not registered. You can help change that now, before the 2024 election!

Third Act and The Civics Center are co-hosting a senior-to-senior workshop to train Third Actors to be ambassadors who recruit and activate students and educators in high schools to organize school voter registration drives before graduation day as a key part of the Class of 2023 “Cap, Gown and Ballot Challenge.”

APRIL 11th, 2:00-3:00 pm ET / 11:00 am – 12:00 pm PT

There’s no such thing as an “off year” for democracy. There may be less attention on voting when there isn’t a big federal election coming this November—but this year is when voter registration is especially important! Studies show that registering new voters yields far greater returns in winning future elections when compared to trying to persuade current voters whose minds are already made up.

This training builds on prior efforts under the banner of Senior to Senior— a variety of intergenerational actions that bring elder “seniors” and high school “seniors” together for civic engagement, both individually and within Third Act Working Groups.
