This is how Gail Worcelo describes her reaction to the first time she heard beloved ‘geologian’, scholar, and Catholic priest Thomas Berry speak. After years of study with Berry, Gail now leads retreats, conferences, and programs on topics ranging from the ‘Mysticism and Theology of Thomas Berry’ to ‘Women Who Have Shaped our Galactic Consciousness’ to ‘Living in a Multispecies World.’ Join us for a free-wheeling conversation with Gail about all that, and more.
In collaboration with Berry, Gail Worcelo co-founded the Sisters of the Earth Community (SEC) and the Green Mountain Monastery. SEC is the first community of Catholic sisters worldwide founded specifically focused on healing and protecting the Earth and its life systems. Gail began her studies with Berry in 1983 during her novitiate with the Passionist nuns of St Gabriel’s monastery. Their friendship and collaboration lasted more than 25 years, until his death in 2009. Fast forward to 2025, the work of the SEC takes Gail all over the world.
