About this event
Join us for a conversation with author and professor Lisa Silvestri. Lisa likes to think, write, and teach about war, peace, politics, social justice, digital culture, democracy, and civic life. In this conversation, we’ll touch on two of Lisa’s writing projects. The first is a deep dive into a surprising coalition that emerged during the 2016-2017 Standing Rock pipeline fight. The second is a group of stories that are the heart of Lisa’s latest book, Peace by Peace. This collection chronicles the stories of ordinary people who “squinted through the fog of adult life” and then chose to do “something new and life giving in the world.” During the conversation, you can expect to hear some inspiring stories and touchstone ideas about collaboration, teamwork, and resilience.
