The speaker will be Bruce Hamilton. Bruce will be speaking on the exciting Biden Administration’s new Public lands Rule.  Bruce is a national volunteer organizer with Third Act.  In his second act he worked for the national Sierra Club for 45 years including stints as Conservation Director and National Policy Director.

Bruce will explain during his presentation at our 4/29 General Meeting why it is important for Third Actors to weigh in now to make sure this new Public Lands rule is adopted and defended. Third Act members played an essential role in the release of the Public Lands Rule by submitting hundreds of comments to the Department of the Interior and the Biden Administration. Our work must continue. The Public Lands Rule is a vital and long overdue reordering of priorities for the federal Bureau of Land Management, which oversees 247 million acres of the United States.  Historically, oil and gas leasing and development, coal mining, and other disruptive industrial activities have been given preference over public uses such as recreation or protecting wildlife habitat.  The Biden Public Lands Rule restores balance by making climate protection, conservation and restoration top priorities for land management.
