About this event

Mirabai Starr

In her latest wonderful book “Ordinary Mysticism: Your Life As Sacred Ground,” Mirabai describes how mystic insights are available to all of us – no church or clergy required. She explores the magic of the mundane in life, from weeding in humble gardens to slow evening walks with friends to kitchen tables surrounded by family. Lyrical and tender, her the book is grounded in lessons from spiritual teachers across the centuries and traditions – from Julian of Norwich to Ram Dass. Life, Mirabai reminds us, is holy ground.

Mirabai Starr is an award-winning author of creative non-fiction and contemporary translations of sacred literature. She taught Philosophy and World Religions at the University of New Mexico-Taos for 20 years. She now teaches and speaks internationally on contemplative practice and inter-spiritual dialog. She lives with her extended family in the mountains of northern New Mexico.
